Ukraine boosts pork exports by 24.2% in Jan-Nov

Shipments of poultry and by-products from Ukraine grew by 23.4%

Ukrainian enterprises in January-November 2019 exported 1,650 tonnes of pork, which was 24.2% up year-over-year (y-o-y), while the exports in monetary terms grew by 32%, to US$4.68 million.

Meanwhile, pork imports into Ukraine over the period under review shrank by 16.7%, to 21,900 tonnes, while the imports in monetary terms declined by 13%, to US$41.8 million, according to customs statistics reports posted by Ukraine's State Fiscal Service (SFS) on its website.

The SFS also reported a 23.4% increase in exports of poultry and by-products from Ukraine for the reporting period, to 375,100 tonnes, while the shipments onto foreign markets in monetary terms grew by 12%, to US$531.74 million.

Shipments of these products from abroad in the 11 months totaled 121,100 tonnes, which was 0.5% down y-o-y. The imports of poultry and by-products in monetary terms shrank by 0.5% to US$48.2 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in 2018 reduced pork exports by over 33.4%, while boosting poultry shipments abroad by 21%.
