Hryvnia keeps beefing up against dollar, euro

Another four-year high was set today.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) set the official forex rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar for Friday, December 13, at UAH 23.56 per U.S. dollar, which was the maximum indicator since January 2016, or almost in four years.

The previous four-year maximum was set at UAH 23.60 per U.S. dollar on December 12, according to the NBU website.

The official forex rate against the euro for Friday is UAH 26.24 per euro.

As UNIAN reported earlier, trade on Ukraine's interbank forex market on Thursday, December 12, closed at UAH 23.54/23.57 per U.S. dollar, while the hryvnia quotations to the euro were at UAH 26.19/26.22.

Ukraine's national currency in November 2019 strengthened by 3.4% against the U.S. dollar. The hryvnia has also strengthened by 13.4% since the beginning of the year, to UAH 23.97 per U.S. dollar.
