Grain exports in Ukraine over 27 mln tonnes

Wheat exports from start of marketing year amounted to 14 million tonnes.

Ukrainian farmers from the beginning of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY, July 2019 - June 2020) as of December 13, exported 27.36 million tonnes of cereals, which is 6.7 million tonnes more than in the same period last MY, the Agrarian Department of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture reports.

Ukraine has already exported 14.036 million tonnes of wheat, 3.6 million tonnes of barley, 9.3 million tonnes of maize, and 5,000 tonnes of barley.

Another 168,800 tonnes of flour (wheat and other crops), which is 62,300 tonnes more than in the corresponding period of the last MY.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in the 2018-2019 marketing year, Ukrainian farmers exported 49.7 million tonnes of grains, which set a record high for the entire history of independent Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, by December 10, Ukrainian farmers had harvested a record grain crop of 75.2 million tonnes, exceeding the Ministry's forecast for 2019 by 1.2 million tonnes. In 2018, grain harvest in Ukraine amounted to 70.1 million tonnes.
