The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday supported the government bill No. 2898 "On peculiarities of the transactions with the state, state-guaranteed debt and local debt," as well as the government bill No. 2899 "On Amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine in connection with the adoption of the law "On peculiarities of the transactions with the state, state-guaranteed debt and local debt."
The bills clear the way for the government to impose moratoriums on foreign debt payments
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the first bill was supported by 256 MPs, while a total of 246 MPs voted for the second one.
