Deficit of foreign trade in goods up to $8.5 bln

Exports of goods to the EU grew by 6.1%, while imports from the EI were up 7.9%.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods in January-October 2019 amounted to $8.463 billion, which is 5.8% more than the deficit recorded in the same period last year.

Exports of goods from Ukraine over the said period grew by 7.4% to $41.645 billion, imports – by 7.1%, up to $50.108 billion, according to the website of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The imports covered exports by 0.83 (for January-October 2018, it was also 0.83).

Foreign trade transactions were carried out with partners from 223 countries.

According to the State Statistics Service, the exports of goods to EU countries grew by 6.1% to $17.440 billion, while the imports of goods from the EU were up 7.9%, to $20.669 billion.

The volume of goods exported to the Russian Federation decreased by 9.7 %, down to $2.735 billion, while imports from Russia were down 11.1%, to $5.896 billion.

Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine estimated the deficit of foreign trade in goods for January-October 2019 at $11.270 billion.

UNIAN memo. According to estimates drawn by the National Bank, the balance of foreign trade in goods and services for 2018 was reduced with a deficit of $11.492 billion, which is 32.9% higher than the deficit for 2017.

According to estimates by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the foreign trade balance for 2018 saw a deficit of $5.826 billion, which is 2.3 times higher than the deficit for 2017 in the amount of $2.501 million.
