In particular, the rate may be set at about UAH 23-24.1 in the first quarter of 2020 (Q1), UAH 24.5-25 in Q2, and UAH 24.5-26.5 in Q3 and Q4, the experts told UNIAN on December 23.

Volumes of gas exports and imports, natural gas transit, receipts from labor migrants and investments, operations with government domestic loan bonds and external bonds, as well as the policy of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) are among major factors influencing the hryvnia exchange rate, the experts said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank set the official forex rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar for Monday, December 23, at UAH 23.29 per U.S. dollar, which was the maximum indicator since January 2016.

Ukraine's national currency in November 2019 strengthened by 3.4% against the U.S. dollar. The hryvnia has also become stronger since the beginning of the year: by 13.4%, to UAH 23.97 per U.S. dollar.
