Ukraine's largest air carrier, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), has introduced a new service, Smart Duty Free, which involves the pre-ordering and delivery of goods at a special price from the online catalog on board an aircraft.

"Now you can choose Duty Free products of top international brands and those of Ukrainian manufacturers in the online catalog of UIA's partner – Duty Free Americas. Book them online in advance, pay, and get them on board at special prices," the UIA's online newsletter says.

As UNIAN reported earlier, new norms for carry-on luggage on all UIA flights began to operate on January 15, 2019. They envisage that any additional personal items, including Duty Free packages, shall be packed as hand luggage. At the same time, most airlines allow that Duty Free goods purchased immediately before departure at the airport can be carried on board without any extra charge for additional hand luggage. This very paragraph caused the client's most dissatisfaction from the new UIA's rules.
