The previous record was set at UAH 23.29 per U.S. dollar on Dec 23.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) set the official forex rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar for Tuesday, December 24, at UAH 23.28 per U.S. dollar, which was the maximum indicator since January 2016.
The previous four-year maximum was fixed at UAH 23.29 per U.S. dollar on December 23, according to the NBU website.
The official forex rate against the euro for Tuesday is UAH 25.78 per euro.
As UNIAN reported earlier, trade on Ukraine's interbank forex market on Monday, December 23, closed at UAH 23.27/23.28 per U.S. dollar, while the hryvnia quotations to the euro were at UAH 25.78/25.79.

Ukraine's national currency in November 2019 strengthened by 3.4% against the U.S. dollar. The hryvnia has also become stronger since the beginning of the year: by 13.4%, to UAH 23.97 per U.S. dollar.
