Deficit of Ukraine's national budget soars to US$1.5 bln in 11 months

The 2019 budget provided for revenue in the amount of UAH 1.026 trillion, or US$42.6 billion.

Ukraine's national budget in January-November 2019 saw a deficit of UAH 34.860 billion, or US$1.5 billion, which was 190 times higher than the deficit for the same period last year.

The surplus of the country's consolidated budget over the period under review was UAH 6.882 billion, or US$295.6 million, against UAH 22.002 billion, or US$945.1 million a year earlier, according to Ukraine's Treasury Service.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the 2019 budget provided for revenue in the amount of UAH 1.026 trillion, or US$42.6 billion, while spending was set at UAH 1.112 trillion, or US$46.2 billion. The deficit of the budget was capped at UAH 89.989 billion, or US$3.74 billion.

In October, the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the budget for the current year. It reduced the revenue plan by UAH 20.4 billion, or US$848 million, having simultaneously cut the cost of servicing public debt by UAH 21.6 billion, or US$898 million.

The consolidated budget consists of the national budget and local ones.
