Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said China transferred 52 pieces of equipment worth about UAH 318 million (US$13.6 million) to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service.
Today representatives of Ukraine and China signed the relevant document, according to the Communications Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Avakov said this was the second batch of China's assistance package.
In particular, 52 vehicles and other hardware worth over 95 million yuan (about UAH 318 million) were transferred to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service.
"I'd like to thank both Mr. Ambassador and the leadership of the Republic of China. We met for the first time in 2016, when you transferred the first batch of equipment, which was very useful to our professionals. Today we already have the second joint project, where you hand over 52 units worth 95 million yuan. We are updating the entire fleet of rescue equipment, so all equipment that comes from China will be used in a systematic manner to modernize our forces," Avakov said.

Chairman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin expressed hope for further cooperation.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine, Du Wei, said he was completing his cadence as Ambassador to Ukraine and therefore, the transfer of equipment became a "wonderful final chord".
The Interior Ministry reminded that in 2016, on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, China handed over to Ukraine 25 units of engineering and rescue equipment, 32 sets of emergency and rescue equipment, and spare parts to them.
