NBU weakens official forex rate to UAH 23.29 to dollar for Nov 27

The four-year maximum was fixed at UAH 23.26 per U.S. dollar on December 26.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Thursday evening set the official forex rate at UAH 23.29 to the dollar for Friday, December 27, which made the country's national currency weaker by three kopiykas after the hryvnia updated its daily maximum from early December 2019 that were the maximum indicators since January 2016.

The latest four-year maximum was fixed at UAH 23.26 per U.S. dollar on December 26, according to the NBU website.

As UNIAN reported earlier, trade on Ukraine's interbank forex market on Tuesday, December 24, closed at UAH 23.25/23.26 per U.S. dollar, while the hryvnia quotations to the euro were at UAH 25.76/25.77.

Ukraine's national currency in November 2019 strengthened by 3.4% against the U.S. dollar. The hryvnia has also become stronger since the beginning of the year: by 13.4%, to UAH 23.97 per U.S. dollar.
