The company made the move immediately after the Cabinet decided on early payment of dividends for 2019.
Naftogaz on December 26 transferred to the national budget UAH 8.5 billion (US$366.5 million) in dividends and 4.5 billion ($194 million) in other tax payments, company CEO Andriy Kobolyev reported.
"Naftogaz is not only the largest company owned by our country. We are also a socially responsible company, responsible before its ultimate owner, the people of Ukraine," Kobolyev wrote on Facebook.

At the beginning of the year, Naftogaz group paid more than UAH 103.8 billion ($4.476 billion) in taxes and dividends, the CEO recalled, adding that the company's share of revenues was the largest to be paid: "approximately every seventh hryvnia came to the treasury through one of the companies that are part of our group".
Naftogaz transferred UAH 13 billion ($560 million) to the national budget immediately after the Cabinet adopted a decision on early payment of dividends for 2019.
"In December, we secured about UAH 20 billion ($862 million) to the state budget," Kobolyev added.
