Ukraine's government is set to sell 530 state-owned enterprises, according to Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk.

"Over almost four months, more state facilities were put up for privatization than over the 28 years of independence. This will attract investment in a number of state enterprises and increase wages for employees," Honcharuk wrote on Telegram.

PM says the total book value of assets agreed upon for privatization is over UAH 12 billion (US$510.2 million).

Honcharuk also said transparent auctions would be held in 2020 via a Prozorro.Sales system.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, on October 2 adopted a law canceling the list of enterprises whose privatization was earlier banned.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to transfer at least 500 enterprises to the State Property Fund by December 1, 2019, for subsequent sale through the ProZorro.Sales electronic trading system as part of small-scale privatization.
