Ukraine exports 30 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian agribusinesses exported 30 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2019, the start of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY), or 30.5%, up from the relevant period of MY 2018-2019.

In particular, Ukraine exported 14.6 million tonnes of wheat, 3.7 million tonnes of barley, 11.4 million tonnes of maize, and 5 million tonnes of rye, according to the Ukrainian Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry's press service.

Over the period under review, agrarians also shipped 187,700 tonnes of flour from wheat and other types of grain to foreign customers, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian agribusinesses in MY 2018-2019 exported 49.7 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence.

According to Ukraine's Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry, Ukrainian agrarians harvested a record high yield of grain, having gathered 75.2 million tonnes as of December 10. It exceeded the ministry's forecast for 2019 by 1.2 million tonnes.

The total yield of grain in 2018 was 70.1 million tonnes.
