Ukraine and Russia on Monday, December 30, signed a five-year contract for gas transit to Europe, which will bring Ukraine at least $7 billion.
The United States has congratulated Ukraine on a gas transit contract with Russia.

"Congratulations to Ukraine for securing a gas transit contract with Russia and receiving $2.9 billion for the Stockholm arbitration. These are significant accomplishments," the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine wrote on Facebook.
