Yevhen Kravtsov, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state-run railway operator, has appealed to the Supervisory Board with a request to terminate his contract as he is set to move to the public sector.

"I'm sure that the railway family will remain close to me," Kravtsov said in a statement.

Also, the chairman of the board refuted rumors about the alleged conflict between Ukrzaliznytsia and the Ministry of Infrastructure.

"We are team players with a common important goal – improving the state of Ukrzaliznytsia – and the desire for the effective development of Ukrainian infrastructure. And this rules out any conflicts and leaves room for exclusively constructive relations," the statement reads.

Kravtsov noted that in recent years, the company's transformation has become one of the most ambitious projects among SOEs, and stressed that the railway giant will pursue its path to a new level.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 2, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine canceled the list of state-owned enterprises banned for privatization, including, Ukrzaliznytsia.
