Ukraine's gas output shrinks by 1% to almost 21 bcm in 2019

State-owned operator of Ukraine's gas transportation system Ukrtransgaz says production of natural gas in Ukraine in 2019 shrank by 1% from 2018, to 20.66 billion cubic meters (bcm).

In particular, gas production by Ukraine's largest natural gas producer Ukrgazvydobuvannya over the period under review dropped by 3.4%, to 14.9 bcm.

The Ukrainian largest crude oil producer, Ukrnafta, in 2019 produced 1.16 bcm of gas (7% up), while other companies extracted 4.6 bcm (5% up).

As UNIAN reported earlier, production of natural gas in Ukraine in 2018 grew by 0.4%, to 20.89 bcm. Ukraine consumed 32.3 bcm of gas in 2018, which was 1.3% up against 2017.

Ukraine's state-owned and private extracting companies increased gas output by 3% in 2017 from 2016, to 20.8 bcm. The country reduced gas consumption in 2017 by 4%, to 31.9 bcm.
