Ukrtransgaz: 13.1 bcm of gas injected in Ukraine's USFs in 2019, up 34% from 2018

The state-owned operator of Ukraine's gas transmission system (GTS), Ukrtransgaz, says 13.1 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas was injected into in the underground storage facilities (USFs) in 2019, which was 34% up from 2018.

"A total of 13.1 bcm [of gas] was injected into underground storage facilities, which is 34% more than in 2018. Pumping out gas from USFs decreased by 25% to 8 bcm," the company's press service said on January 3.

Some 18.9 bcm of gas was accumulated in the underground storage facilities as of January 1, 2020, which was 36% up from the figure reported as of January 1, 2019, the report said.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine reduced gas consumption by 7%, to 26.4 bcm in 2019, according to Ukrtransgaz.
