Ukraine sees 3% drop in sales of new commercial vehicles in 2019

Some 1,500 new commercial vehicles were sold in December 2019 alone.

Sales of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine in January-December 2019 dropped by 3% year-over-year (y-o-y), to 12,400 vehicles.

Renault with 2,469 vehicles sold over the period under review ranked first, having demonstrated a 2% increase in sales of new commercial cars y-o-y, the Ukrautoprom association's press service said.

Fiat was second with 1,491 vehicles sold in 2019, which was 12% up from 2018.

Ford cars ranked third, they acquired 922 Ukrainian license plates last year, despite a 9% decline in sales.

Mercedes-Benz took the fourth place in the ranking with 850 vehicles sold, which was 18% down against 2018.

The Peugeot brand whose sales in 2019 totaled 828 vehicles (80% up from 2018) joined the top five leaders in terms of sales of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine.

Noteworthy, sales of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine in December 2019 alone reached 1,500 units, which was 28% up y-o-y, according to Ukrautoprom.
