Ukrainian NPPs meet generation target by almost 102% – Energoatom

Energoatom operates four nuclear power plants in Ukraine (Zaporizhia NPP, Rivne NPP, Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP, and Khmelnytsky NPP).

Ukraine's national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom says the company in 2019 generated 83.228 billion kWh of electricity, which accounted for 101.8% of the planned target set for Energoatom by the government.

All Ukrainian NPPs exceeded the targets for electricity generation: Zaporizhia NPP (102%), Rivne NPP (102%), Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP (100.6%), and Khmelnytsky NPP (102.6%), the company's press service said on January 3.

Rivne NPP demonstrated best installed capacity utilization factor (ICUF) last year, which grew by 6.3% from 77% in 2018 to 99.9%, while Zaporizhia NPP's ICUF rose from 68.3% to 73.1%. In turn, Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP extend the resource of its unit No. 3 and reported a 100.1% ICUF in 2019.

Moreover, Energoatom reduced the number of operation disturbances from 22 in 2018 to 13 in 2029.

UNIAN memo. Energoatom is the operator of four nuclear power plants in Ukraine (Zaporizhia NPP, Rivne NPP, Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP, and Khmelnytsky NPP). The NPPs operate 15 nuclear power units (13 VVER-1000 and two VVER-440 units) with a total capacity of 13.84 GW.
