Ukraine's State Tax Service (STS) says the Ukrainian national budget's general fund in 2019 received UAH 457.3 billion (US$19.1 billion) in tax revenue, which was UAH 66.7 billion (US$2.8 billion), or 17.1%, up from 2018.

"The Finance Ministry's indicative figures have been fulfilled by 100.8%, with additional revenue of UAH 3.8 billion [US$160.5 million] to the budget," the STS press service said on January 3.

"For the first time since 2011, the budget has been fulfilled by the Tax Service. There was no pressure for the taxpayers, unnecessary and unreasonable audits, fines, and extra charges. We have broken this shameful tradition by introducing proper administration based on the analytical work," the press service quoted STS Chairman Serhiy Verlanov as saying.

"We have also reduced the number of scheduled and unscheduled audits by 14%, and we plan to reduce them by another 20% next year. The Tax Service is really becoming a service for the taxpayers, not a nightmare," he added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, revenue of the Ukrainian national budget's general fund in 2018 grew by 15.2% from 2017, up to UAH 729.4 billion (US$30.8 billion).
