Ukraine exports almost 32 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian agribusinesses exported 31.7 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2019, the start of the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY), to January 9, 2020, which was 6.9 million tonnes up from the relevant period of MY 2018-2019.

In particular, Ukraine exported almost 15 million tonnes of wheat, 3.6 million tonnes of barley, and 12.8 million tonnes of maize, the press service of Ukraine's State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian agribusinesses in MY 2018-2019 exported 49.7 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence.

According to Ukraine's Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry, Ukrainian agrarians boast of a record high yield of grain, having harvested 75.2 million tonnes as of December 10. It exceeded the ministry's forecast for 2019 by 1.2 million tonnes.

The total yield of grain in 2018 was 70.1 million tonnes.
