Government publishes decision to issue Eurobonds under US guarantee

The Cabinet of Ministers has issued a decree to make a new issue of five-year Eurobonds worth a total of $1 billion under U.S. government guarantees.

According to a document published in the official government newspaper Uryadovy Kurier,  interest income on securities may not exceed 2.5% per annum. The nominal value of each bond is $200,000, or a larger amount that is divisible by $1,000.

According to the document, the coupon payment on the bonds will be carried out on November 29 and May 29, with maturity on May 29, 2020.

The decree was signed by Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk on May 20.

According to reports from market participants, yesterday Ukraine placed bonds at a rate of 1.847% with a premium of 32 basis points against similar US government bonds.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in May last year the first issue of bonds worth $1 billion under U.S. guarantees for five years at a rate of 1.844% per annum, only by 0.28% per annum more than similar US bonds, and the subscription to the bonds amounted to $3.4 billion.
