In particular, the repayment was made in line with the terms of the principal loan worth US$500 million and an additional loan worth US$94.9 million, the company's press service said on January 11.

"The repayment on the external obligations was made again without delay and in full, proving the company's status before international partners as a reliable borrower. At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia in 2019 repaid part of its principal debt in the amount of US$300 million on LPNs whose debut issue was placed in 2013, and redeemed a coupon on them on schedule. The remaining US$200 million on the issue is to be repaid in the next two years," the press service added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia in September 2019 issued loan participation notes worth about US$100 million, increasing the total issue of LPNs to US$600 million. The additionally issued securities are falling due in 2024, their effective rate is set at 7.292% per annum.

In early July 2019, Ukrzaliznytsia, for the first time after a six-year halt, raised financing worth US$500 million on the international capital market. The coupon rate on the new notes was the lowest since 2011 among quasi-sovereign borrowers from Ukraine.
