Ukraine enters world's top five poultry suppliers

Ukraine ranked fourth, following Brazil, the European Union, and Thailand.

Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Tymofiy Mylovanov has announced that Ukraine entered the world's Top 5 countries in terms of poultry meat exports, as well as received permission from the European Union to export 58,000 tonnes of wheat to the EU countries.

"[Our] victories in agriculture. Firstly, Ukraine entered the world's Top 5 exporters of poultry, following Brazil, the European Union, and Thailand. Secondly, the EU issued permits to buy 58,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat as part of the first distribution of the tariff rate quota (TRQ) for 2020. Almost the entire quota was issued for duty-free shipments of Ukrainian wheat," he wrote on Facebook on January 14.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, ratified the EU-Ukraine agreement to boost quotas for duty-free poultry exports from Ukraine, up to 70,000 tonnes by 2021.
