The Rada passed the relevant bill at second reading and as a whole on December 5.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed into law the bill to amend the Land Code of Ukraine and some other legislative acts to counter raiding attacks – illegal seizures of agrarian assets in Ukraine.
The president signed the bill into law on January 13, according to Parliament website.
The new legislation strengthens liability for registrars committing illegal actions during registration, as well as obliges the government to set up an inventory of all land plots that have not been registered with the State Land Cadastre.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Rada passed said bill at second reading and as a whole on December 5.
Introducing the bill, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Mykola Solsky said that the bill would allow the authorities to properly address the issue of illegal seizures of agrarian assets.

The document envisages the provision of state cadastral registrars with online access to information contained in the State Register of Rights to Real Estate, while public registrars with the right of online access to all data in the State Land Cadastre, the explanatory note to the bill said.
According to the document, state registrars must expand data vetting beyond the State Register of Rights to Real Estate – to the State Land Cadastre. During the registration of land plot ownership rights, a state registrar shall also be obliged to check whether a person who has applied for registration is entitled to do so, as well as verify data on real estate in other state registries.
A state registrar is obliged to leave without consideration the application for registration of the right to immovable property if the cadastral number of the land plot is not indicated in the State Land Cadastre.
