Ukraine's foreign trade in goods sees deficit increase to $9.4 bln

Exports of goods to the EU grew by 4.4%, while imports from EU rose 7.5%.

Ukraine's deficit of foreign trade in goods for January-November 2019 amounted to $9.374 billion, which is 5.7% more than that for the same period in the previous year, the State Statistics Service reports.

Exports of goods from Ukraine over the reporting period increased by 6.3% to $45.963 billion, while imports rose by 6.2%, to $55.337 billion.

The coefficient of import coverage by exports amounted to 0.83, as in January-November 2018.

Foreign trade transactions were carried out with partners from 225 countries.

The statistics agency says exports of goods to EU member states grew by 4.4% to $19.219 billion, while imports of goods from EU rose 7.5%, to $22.770 billion.

The volume of exports of goods to the Russian Federation decreased by 9.7%, to $3.006 billion, while imports from Russia were down 13.4%, to $6.423 billion.

UNIAN memo. The National Bank of Ukraine says the balance of foreign trade in goods and services of Ukraine in 2018 was reduced with a deficit of $11.492 billion, which is 32.9% higher than the deficit seen in 2017.

According to estimates by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, Ukraine's foreign trade balance for 2018 was reduced with a deficit of $5.826 billion, which is 2.3 times higher than that in 2017 at $2.501 billion.
