Arakhamia told journalists that now the parliament should vote for all bills that are relevant for the time being. Then it may start the consideration of the draft law on the farmland market, which can last up to three months.

Answering an UNIAN reporter's question on whether this means that the consideration of the bill could be postponed for the summer, Arakhamia said: "I think it could be mid-February or sometime around. Maybe late in February."

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada on November 13 passed bill No. 2178-10 in the first reading to amend certain legislative acts of Ukraine concerning the turnover of agricultural land, designed to launch the farmland market in Ukraine from October 1, 2020. More than 4,000 amendments were submitted to the parliament.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said foreigners and foreign entities would be allowed to buy agricultural land only if it is approved by referendum.
