Ukraine's Energoatom pays US$803 mln in taxes, fees, insurance to budgets in 2019

The company also channeled US$204.7 million in net profit to the budget.

Ukraine's national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom in 2019 paid UAH 19.297 billion (US$803 million) in taxes, fees, and insurance contributions to the budgets of all levels, which was UAH 8.605 billion (US$358 million), or 80%, up from 2018.

In particular, Energoatom transferred part of its net profit, namely UAH 4.920 billion (US$204.7 million), to the budget, the company's press service said on January 15.

At the same time, the company's revenue grew slightly – only by 10%. According to rough data, Energoatom's commercial products sales in 2019 stood at UAH 48.764 billion, or US$2 billion, (excluding VAT) against UAH 44.122 billion, or US$1.836 billion, reported in 2018.

Last year, Energoatom injected UAH 14.258 billion (US$593 million) in capital investment into the reconstruction of existing industrial facilities and the construction of new ones. It was UAH 2.522 billion (US$105 million), or 21%, up from 2018.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Energoatom in 2019 generated 83.228 billion kWh of electricity, which accounted for 101.8% of the target set by the government for the company.

In 2019, all Ukrainian NPPs exceeded the targets for electricity generation, namely Zaporizhia NPP (102%), Rivne NPP (102%), Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP (100.7%), and Khmelnytsky NPP (102.6%).

UNIAN memo. Energoatom is the operator of four nuclear power plants in Ukraine (Zaporizhia NPP, Rivne NPP, Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP, and Khmelnytsky NPP). The NPPs operate 15 nuclear power units (13 VVER-1000 and two VVER-440 units) with a total capacity of 13.84 GW.
