Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk says the Cabinet of Ministers has approved an updated list of enterprises that are not subject to sale.

"We've approved the relevant draft law. Now, it should be considered and backed by the Verkhovna Rada [Ukraine's parliament]," he wrote on his Telegram-Channel on January 15.

According to the Honcharuk, the lists includes the enterprises that provide the country's energy independence and defense capability, as well as natural monopolies and facilities that are critically important to society.

"Moreover, we will strengthen control over the use of property and the effective management of strategic state-run enterprises that are not subject to privatization," he added.

In particular, this refers to National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine, PJSC Magistralni Gazoprovody Ukrainy (MGU/"Trunk Gas Pipelines of Ukraine"), Ukrtransgaz (the state-owned operator of Ukraine's gas transmission system/GTS), Ukraine's largest natural gas producer Ukrgazvydobuvannya, Chornomornaftogaz, the national operator of Ukraine's crude oil transport system Ukrtransnafta, State Joint Stock Holding Company Artem, PJSC Ukrposhta (Ukraine's state-owned postal services provider), and the Ukrainian national railways company PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

The company's corporate rights stake belonging to the state must be at least 50% plus one share. The state shall fully own corporate rights of such enterprises as Ukraine's national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom, the state-owned energy generating company Ukrhydroenergo, the operator of the Ukrainian integrated power grids Ukrenergo, and the manufacturer of freight and passenger aircraft state-owned Antonov.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 2, the Verkhovna Rada passed a bill to abolish the list of enterprises that are not subject to sale. The Cabinet of Ministers within three months was tasked to prepare an updated list of state-owned assets banned for sale.
