NBU weakens official forex rate to UAH 24.25 to dollar for Jan 20

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday is fixed at UAH 26.94 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Friday evening weakened the official hryvnia exchange rate by 16 kopiykas for Monday, January 20, bringing the national currency to UAH 24.25 to the U.S. dollar.

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday is fixed at UAH 26.94 per euro, which is four kopiykas down from the rate set for Friday.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's national currency in November 2019 strengthened by 3.4% against the U.S. dollar and by 13.4% in the 11 months of 2019, to UAH 23.97 per dollar. The hryvnia continued getting stronger in December until its four-year maximum set at UAH 23.26 per dollar on December 26.

However, the National Bank let the official hryvnia weaken on December 27, 2019, for the first time over the month, and this trend continued in early 2020.
