BP gives up cooperation with Rosneft until lifting of sanctions

British energy company BP is not intending to discuss new projects with Russian oil giant Rosneft until sanctions against Russia are lifted, according to BP’s chief executive Bob Dudley, Russian news agency Prime has reported.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"It's difficult now because of the sanctions. But we're definitely planning to [cooperate] in the future, after the sanctions are lifted," Dudley said on the sidelines of the World Gas Conference, which is being held June 1-5 in Paris, France.

He said that there were traditional projects that  both companies planned to develop in the future, in particular - joint development of the Taas-Yuryakhskoye field.

In early 2015, it became known that BP had signed a new memorandum with Rosneft on the development of the Taas-Yuryakhskoye field in Eastern Siberia, but the parties did not finalize the deal in view of the tense political situation and the introduction of Western sanctions against Russia.
