NBU lets official hryvnia weaken to UAH 24.72 to U.S. dollar on Jan 29

The official forex rate against the euro for Wednesday is fixed at UAH 27.21 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on January 28 set the official forex rate for Wednesday, January 29, at UAH 24.72 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency weaken by 12 kopiykas.

The hryvnia is falling against the dollar for the second day in a row after it weakened by 27 kopiykas on Tuesday, according to the NBU website.

The official forex rate against the euro for Wednesday is fixed at UAH 27.21 per euro – the hryvnia lost nine kopiykas in value since Tuesday.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's national currency in 2019 strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 14.5%, to UAH 23.69 and against the euro by 16.7%, to UAH 26.42.

Ukraine's national currency in 2018 strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 1.4%, to UAH 27.69 as of January 1, 2019.

The hryvnia's historical low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.
