Average wage in Ukraine grows to almost US$500 in Dec y-o-y

The average nominal wage of a full-time employee grew by 14.8% in Ukraine in December 2019 against November 2019, while rising by 16% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 12,264, or US$496.

Real wages in Ukraine in December 2019 increased by 0.5% from November 2019, whereas they also rose by 11.3% y-o-y, the State Statistics Service reported.

The average nominal rate of a full-time employee in Ukraine in December 2019 was 2.9 times up from the minimum wage set at UAH 4,173 (US$169).

The average pay in the city of Kyiv in December 2019 was UAH 18,869 (US$763), the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine from January 1, 2020, increased by UAH 550 (US$22.25), to UAH 4,723 (US$191) per month, or UAH 28.31 (US$1.15) per hour.

According to the 2020 national budget, the minimum monthly subsistence wage will be UAH 2,027 (US$82) per capita from January 1; UAH 2,118 (US$85.68) from July 1; and UAH 2,189 (US$88.55) from December 1.
