NBU lets official hryvnia weaken to UAH 24.85 to U.S. dollar on Jan 30

The official forex rate against the euro for Thursday is fixed at UAH 27.33 per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on January 29 set the official forex rate at UAH 24.85 to the U.S. dollar, which made the country's national currency weaker by 13 kopiykas.

The Central Bank fixed the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for January 30:

US$100 will be traded for UAH 2,484.91 (UAH 2,472.04 as of January 29);

EUR 100 will be traded for UAH 2,732.53 (UAH 2,720.85 as of January 29).

The hryvnia is falling against the dollar for the third day in a row after it weakened by 27 kopiykas on Tuesday and by 12 kopiykas on Wednesday, according to the NBU website.

The official forex rate against the euro for Thursday is fixed at UAH 27.33 per euro – the hryvnia lost 12 kopiykas in value since Wednesday.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's national currency in 2019 strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 14.5%, to UAH 23.69 and against the euro by 16.7%, to UAH 26.42.

Ukraine's national currency in 2018 strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 1.4%, to UAH 27.69 as of January 1, 2019.

The hryvnia's historical low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.
