"We expect that the positive trends that exist in the market will continue. This means that the new formula will give us the opportunity to once again revise prices in February towards their decrease," he said at press conference on January 29.

The minister also added that the January gas price for households would be in range of UAH 6,000 – UAH 7,000, or US$241 – US$281.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers on January 24 amended its resolution on public service obligations (PSOs) and limited the price of gas for households and municipal heating companies to that set at the Dutch Gas Hub.

On January 28, Naftogaz announced that in keeping with a new government resolution, the January wholesale gas price for households, heat producers and other protected consumers receiving gas under the terms of public service obligations will be UAH 4.65 per cubic meter or US$0.19 (VAT, retail margin, transmission and distribution costs are not included). The price is 25% down from that of January 2019.
