Hryvnia slides 6% to dollar in January

During this period, the hryvnia also fell against the euro, by 5%.

Ukraine's national currency at the official exchange rate since early January has fallen by 5.7% against the U.S. dollar to UAH 25.03, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to the data published on the central bank's website, for the same period, the hryvnia has dropped to the euro by 4.7%, to UAH 27.66.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2019, the national currency of Ukraine at the official exchange rate strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 14.5%, to UAH 23.69, and to the euro – by 16.7%, to UAH 26.42.

In December last year, the hryvnia did daily updates toward strengthening or maintained a four-year high, including the last time on December 26 – at UAH 23.26 to the dollar.
