Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods, services 7% up in 2019 – NBU

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 10%.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2019 was estimated at US$12.117 billion, which was 7% up year-on-year.

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 10%, to US$13.947 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services rose by 36%, to US$1.830 billion, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

UNIAN memo. The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 totaled US$11.492 billion, which was 32.9% up from the deficit posted in 2017, the regulator said.

The State Statistics Service, in turn, estimated the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 at US$5.826 billion, which was 2.3 times up against the deficit recorded in 2017.
