NBU decides to liquidate insolvent bank Nadra

The National Bank of Ukraine has taken a decision to revoke Nadra Bank’s banking license and liquidate it under an initiative of the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund, according to the statement published on the Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

The NBU reported that over the period of interim administration operation in the insolvent bank, UAH 2 billion have been already paid to depositors, with another UAH 1.8 billion to be paid in the near future.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund introduced a temporary administration at the bank on February 6, in accordance with the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine on declaring the bank insolvent, and subsequently extended the time of the interim administration until June 5.

Nadra Bank has been operating in Ukraine since 1993 and was one of Ukraine’s largest banks in terms of assets. The main shareholder is the subsidiary of Firtash Group of Companies - Centragas Holding AG company (owing 89.9659% shares of the bank, Austria).

In 2014, the bank incurred a loss of UAH 1.041 billion, while in the previous year the bank generated profit of UAH 2.374 million.
