The share of labor migrants under the age of 25 from Ukraine sharply increased in Poland in 2019.

"Such information is contained in a study conducted by the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw and EWL S.A.'s Foundation for the Support of Migrants on the Labour Market. The study was presented during a Ukraine-Europe forum in Rzeszow," the Ukrainian-registered European Pravda media outlet reported.

According to the study, the most active group of Ukrainian migrant workers were people aged 26-35. However, their share over the year decreased from 35% to 33%. Meanwhile, the share of people younger than 26 sharply increased, from 21% to 29.2%. Most of them arrived in Poland shortly after graduation.

The share of migrants aged 36-46 is 23.1%, and that of Ukrainians aged 46-55 is 13.2%.

Despite the fact that the majority of labor migrants were men, their number decreased from 63% to 60%. The share of workers who do not speak Polish declined by a third, from 31% to 20.6%.

Greater dynamics were recorded in expectations of wage levels. If in 2018 more than 40% of employees were ready to work for a minimum hourly rate, their share in 2019 was a mere 6%.
