NBU strengthens official hryvnia to UAH 24.58 to U.S. dollar on Feb 7

The Ukrainian hryvnia in January weakened by 5.7% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 25.03.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on February 6 set the official forex rate at UAH 24.58 to the U.S. dollar, which made the country's national currency stronger by 22 kopiykas.

The Central Bank fixed the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for February 7:

US$100 will be traded for UAH 2,457.94 (UAH 2,479.59 as of February 6);

EUR 100 will be traded for UAH 2,704.35 (UAH 2,731.52 as of February 6).

On Friday, the hryvnia rose against the dollar for the second day in a row after a week-long slide since Monday, January 27, when it weakened by 27 kopiykas, according to the NBU website.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian hryvnia in January weakened by 5.7% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 25.03, and by 4.7% against the euro, to UAH 27.66 per euro.

Ukraine's national currency in 2019 strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 14.5%, to UAH 23.69 and against the euro by 16.7%, to UAH 26.42.

The hryvnia's historical low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.
