Pension Fund reports on levels of monthly pensions in Ukraine as of Jan 1

In total, there are 11.3 million retirement-age people in Ukraine; of them, 2.6 million still work.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has said the average pension in the country as of January 1, 2020, stood at UAH 3,082.98, or about US$126.

Retirement-age pensions (UAH 3,064/US$125 on the average) accounted for 75.4% of all pensions paid, the share of disability pensions (UAH 2,641/US$108) is 12.8%, and that of survivors' pension benefits (UAH 2,916/US$119) is 5.7%, the PFU wrote on Facebook on February 7.

The share of long-service pensions is 5.4% of the total number of assigned retirement benefits (the largest average pension UAH 4,500/US$183), while that of social pensions is a mere 0.7% (UAH 1,644/US$67).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Pension Fund's budget for 2020 was set at UAH 448.61 billion (US$18.3 billion), including UAH 146.83 billion (US$6 billion) in deficit, which will be covered by subsidies from the national budget. The maximum pension in Ukraine is expected to be tripled in 2020.
