Ukraine's foreign trade deficit almost halves over past year

Last year, imports of goods and services to Ukraine grew by 6%, while exports rose 11%.

Ukraine's foreign trade balance for 2019 was reduced with a deficit of $3.633 billion, which is 1.7 times lower than the deficit for 2018 at $6.213 billion, as reported on the website of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Imports of goods and services to Ukraine over the past year grew by 6%, to $67.309 billion, while exports rose 11.2%, to $63.676 billion, the report reads.

According to the data provided, the deficit of foreign trade in goods in 2019 increased by 8.8%, up to $10.723 billion.

At the same time, the surplus of foreign trade in services grew 1.6 times, up to $8.710 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, referring to the National Bank's estimates, the deficit of foreign trade in goods and services of Ukraine in 2019 increased by 7%, to $12.1 billion.
