NBU strengthens official forex rate to UAH 24.45 to dollar for Feb 17

The hryvnia's historical low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Friday evening strengthened the official hryvnia exchange rate by three kopiykas for Monday, February 17, bringing the national currency to UAH 24.45 to the U.S. dollar.

The hryvnia became stronger for the second day in a row after it had gained two kopiykas in value against U.S. dollar, according to the NBU website.

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday is fixed at UAH 26.49 per euro – the hryvnia gained 10 kopiykas in value since Friday.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian hryvnia in January 2020 weakened by 5.7% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 25.03 per U.S. dollar and by 4.7% against the euro, to UAH 27.66 per euro.

In 2019, Ukraine's national currency strengthened by 14.5% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 23.69 and by 16.7% against the euro, to UAH 26.42.

The hryvnia's historical low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.
