Ukraine's exports of goods, services to EU in 2019 estimated at US$25 bln

The exports to other countries stood at US$63.7 billion.

Ukrainian exports of goods and services to the countries of the European Union in 2019 were estimated at US$25 billion.

In particular, Ukrainian goods exports to the EU in 2019 grew by 3%, while those of services rose by 7.7%, the Government's portal reported on February 14, referring to the State Statistics Service.

In total, Ukraine got more than US$25 billion from exports of goods and services to EU countries, that is, US$20.752 billion and US$4.288 billion respectively.

In addition, the share of funds Ukraine received from goods exports to EU is 41.5%, while those obtained from services exports accounted for 28.1%.

"Constantly increasing exports of Ukrainian goods to the EU markets is a quality mark. Ukraine is one of the three major exporters of agricultural products to EU countries. Our goal is to significantly boost industrial goods exports to the EU. [The so-called] 'industrial visa-free regime' [the conclusion of an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) with the EU] we are currently elaborating with the European Union will significantly strengthen Ukraine's position," Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba said.

In total, Ukraine's exports of goods and services to other countries stood at US$63.7 billion, which was 11% up against 2018. Over the period under review, Ukraine traded with partners from 235 countries. China was the major buyer of Ukrainian goods. In particular, exports to China in monetary terms grew by 63% from 2018, while goods exports to Russia in 2019 shrank by 11%.

Leaders in the commodity structure of exports from Ukraine over the period under review were:

- Vegetable products worth US$12.9 billion, accounting for 25.8% of the total amount of exports (in particular, grain exports totaled US$9.6 billion);

- Non-precious metals and products made of them (20.5%, US$10.3 billion); and

- Mineral products (9.7%, US$4.9 billion).

Ukraine in 2019 also tripled fertilizers exports to other countries, as well as increased shipments of optical instruments and devices (22% up from 2018), vehicles, aircraft, and floating equipment (32% up), as well as pearls and precious or semiprecious stones (44% up).

The top export services are related to insurance, transport, and post.
