Ukraine's Finance Ministry borrows US$62.6 mln in bonds on domestic market

Ukraine's Finance Ministry has borrowed UAH 1.529 billion, or US$62.6 million, for the national budget at a recent weekly auction to place government domestic loan bonds.

Funds in hryvnias were raised through the placement of securities with 140-, 518-, and 1,092-day maturity periods, and a weighted average yield of 9.82%, 9.63%, and 10.11% per annum, respectively, the ministry said on its website.

That is, bonds placement rates rose after a gradual decline for most of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.

No bonds have been placed, denominated in foreign currency, the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Finance Ministry borrowed UAH 18.6 billion (US$761 million) for the national budget at weekly bond auctions in January 2020, while the weighted average yield on government bonds placement shrank to 10%.
