Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Trade Envoy Taras Kachka says maize tops Ukrainian exports in 2019 with 32 million tonnes of crop worth US$5.2 billion shipped abroad, which was more than the country received from other goods exports in monetary terms (the share is 10.4% in all exports).
Sunflower oil ranked second in the export structure with shipments worth US$3.78 billion, which accounted for 7.6% of all export earnings in 2019, he wrote on Facebook on February 18.
Wheat took third place with its exports totalign 19.96 million tonnes worth US$3.65 billion. Over the period under review, the share of wheat in Ukrainian exports was 7.3%.

Iron-ore pellets took the fourth spot since Ukraine shipped 15 million tonnes of the produce abroad (worth US$1.6 billion), accounting for 3.2% of the country's exports.
It is followed by iron concentrates (1.87 million tonnes worth US$42 billion), cables (US$1.32 billion), slabs or semi-finished products of carbon steel (3.19 million tonnes, US$1.29 billion), rapeseed (3.1 million tonnes, US$1.26 billion), soybeans (3.6 million tonnes, US$1.16 billion), and sunflower seed cake (4.7 million tonnes, US$975 million).
According to Kachka, the said 10 products accounted for 43.2% of all Ukrainian exports.
"Do not be intimidated by the raw material component of the Top 10, as there are also value-added goods, namely railway cars, telephones and engines," he added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, imports of goods and services to Ukraine in 2019 grew by 6%, to US$67.309 billion, while exports rose 11.2%, to US$63.676 billion, according to the State Statistics Service.
Ukraine in 2019 updated its historical record of agri-exports, having supplied to foreign markets agricultural products worth US$22.4 billion, which was almost 20% up from 2018.
