NBU lets official hryvnia weaken to UAH 24.52 to U.S. dollar on Feb 20

The official forex rate of the hryvnia against the euro for Thursday is fixed at UAH 26.49.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on February 19 set the official forex rate for Thursday, February 20, at UAH 24.52 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency weaken by eight kopiykas, after it became stronger by one kopiyka on Wednesday.

The official forex rate of the hryvnia against the euro for Thursday is fixed at UAH 26.49 – the hryvnia has lost six kopiykas in value since Wednesday.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian hryvnia in January 2020 weakened by 5.7% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 25.03 per U.S. dollar and by 4.7% against the euro, to UAH 27.66 per euro.

In 2019, Ukraine's national currency strengthened by 14.5% against the U.S. dollar, to UAH 23.69 and by 16.7% against the euro, to UAH 26.42.

The hryvnia's historical low against the U.S. dollar was registered at UAH 30.01 in February 2015.
