Ukraine's Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture says the country in January 2019 boosted farm produce exports by 14% year-over-year (y-o-y), to US$1.98 billion, accounting for 48% of Ukraine's total exports.

"Ukraine is showing positive dynamics in increasing agricultural exports, in particular, due to increased yields and agricultural production, demand for Ukrainian products among foreign consumers and the opening of new sales markets. Grains and oilseeds account for the major shares in agri-exports, that is 48% and 23%, respectively. However, we are gradually increasing shipments of finished, niche, and organic products," the ministry's press service quoted Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Taras Vysotskyi as saying on February 20.
