However, the economy continues to grow faster than in Europe, the official says.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Hncharuk has said the slowdown in Ukraine's economy growth in the fourth quarter of 2019 (Q4) is caused by objective factors.

"The economy continues to grow faster than in Europe. In the fourth quarter, the pace slowed down. It's true, this is due to absolutely objective factors. For example, now we have much cheaper gas than it was last winter. We have generated and consumed much less electricity, which is cheaper than last winter. October and November were unsuccessful for our industry in terms of external markets," he said when presenting the Government's report in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, on February 21.
